David Viggers-Always stimulating company

David was a senior man on the UK pictures operation when I was News Editor, Europe in the 1990s, and he was aways stimulating company.

As others have recorded, he demanded top quality from his fellow photographers and editors and ran a highly competitive service, much appreciated by demanding clients in Fleet Street and elsewhere. He knew and understood his market very well.

He also had a finely tuned sense of humour, a bit of a reputation for not suffering fools gladly and a taste for the better things in life, notably a good table. A character with a clear idea of what he wanted and how to get there.

Deepest sympathies to his wife Clare and family.
