Baron de Reuter retires due to ill health

Baron de Reuter, founder of Reuters, retired as managing director “in consequence of failing health” at the age of 61 in May 1878. He was succeeded by his son, Herbert, 26, born in London in 1852.

Next Baron's Briefing - Gaza debate

The next Baron's Briefing will be an exciting new format with a moderated online discussion entitled, "Perspectives on Gaza, a discussion from the heart of the conflict". It will bring together three Middle East veterans - Arik Bachar, who is in Tel Aviv, and Sami Aboudi, from Jerusalem, in a discussion moderated by Paul Holmes. The event will be held on Friday May 17 at 5 p.m. U.K. time and last for one hour. To get the Zoom link, email baronsbriefing@gmail.com, stating your connection to Reuters or Thomson Reuters.
