Michael Nelson-Wise counsel

I got to know Michael long after I had left Reuters and set up the International News Safety Institute, a charity devoted to helping journalists survive dangerous assignments.

He was an early and enthusiastic supporter, quick to see how the world had changed and the deadly dangers to journalists had multiplied. I greatly appreciated his support and advice and will miss his wise counselling and friendly companionship. ■
