Thomson Reuters to speed up organic growth through innovation

Thomson Reuters wants more employees to get involved in a global programme of innovation.

“Our ongoing efforts to accelerate organic growth through innovation are about to shift into high gear,” chief executive James Smith (photo) told staff. “We’re kicking this month off with the launch of a new Innovation Toolkit. Everyone at Thomson Reuters has an opportunity to innovate, whether by improving a product, making a process more efficient or finding a better way to meet customers’ needs. This toolkit has been designed to help you strengthen and apply your ideas by providing actionable concepts, tools and methods to fast-track innovation.

“Many of you have already contributed to the ideation phase of our upcoming Enterprise Innovation Workshop which will be held in Baar, Switzerland, July 14-17,” Smith said. “We received an impressive 200+ operational, experience and product-focused ideas from colleagues around the company. These ideas will join additional proposals from the workshop participants as we close in on the ten ideas which have the greatest potential to generate revenue this year by leveraging existing capabilities across the organization.”

Staff will be invited to follow events “via a daily blog, videos and photos, online discussion threads and more. And we will follow the success of the winning proposals over the months ahead”. ■
