Reuters releases new-look apps for iPad, iPhone

Reuters launched new versions of its applications for Apple's iPad and iPhone on Wednesday and offered a sneak preview of its re-designed Reuters.com website due to be rolled out this spring.

The apps are pitched as “a new way to stay informed” that deliver the speed, breadth and insight of Reuters journalism and financial information.

“The world is complicated. With the new Reuters apps, news events are presented within a stream of related information,” Reuters’ promotion for the apps says. “You’ll get background articles and data; photography, video and social media; plus reader comments and exclusive commentary by Reuters writers like Felix Salmon, Jack Shafer and Anatole Kaletsky.”

In the days ahead, many of the apps’ innovations will also be seen on a special preview of the completely re-engineered Reuters.com. More content including video and more innovative features are to be added in coming weeks.
