Reuters fields huge team for Davos meeting

Reuters is fielding what must be reckoned a record team, some of them pictured, to cover this year's World Economic Forum annual meeting, which begins today in Davos, Switzerland.

Thomson Reuters is a strategic sponsor of the four-day event, whose theme “Resilient Dynamism” explores how global, regional and industry transformation can be catalysed and facilitated to improve the state of the world. The group’s chief executive, James Smith, is among participants along with other senior Thomson Reuters managers including David CraigChris PerryShanker Ramamurthy, and Susan Taylor Martin.

Thomson Reuters has taken over the Davos Library and transformed it into a full television and editorial studio.

In “the first dispatch from our anonymous on-site correspondent”, Thomson Reuters’ Knowledge Effect blog said “Today, the library (‘die Bibliothek’) is swarming with polyglot technicians laying cables and connecting the enormous transmission truck outside to the sleek television studio inside; soon, interview after interview for the Davos Today TV show and Reuters.com will begin filming there.” Davos Today – slogan: Wake Up with a World Leader – will beam directly to delegates’ hotel rooms.

The third issue of Reuters magazine has been published to coincide with the Davos meeting. Thousands of copies will be distributed to delegates and hotels. ■
