Thomson Reuters postpones Q3 results due to hurricane

Thomson Reuters has postponed its third-quarter 2012 earnings announcement due on Tuesday because of expected severe weather conditions caused by Hurricane Sandy. The rescheduled announcement will be on Friday.

All US stock markets will remain closed on Monday as a result of the storm, exchanges, regulators and trading firms agreed late on Sunday. Markets may remain closed on Tuesday.

Chief executive James Smith said: “I have taken this decision in light of the exceptional circumstances due to Hurricane Sandy. It is best that our employees, shareholders and other stakeholders focus on staying safe during the impending storm. We intend to announce our third-quarter results this coming Friday as conditions improve.”

Smith and Stephane Bello, chief financial officer, will host a conference call and simultaneous webcast with analysts at 8:30 am EDT on Friday. ■
