Peter Wade, a real 'human' human being

In a company where titles, alas, sometimes went to peoples’ heads, and where some did not know the difference between being the boss and being bossy, Peter Wade was a real “human” human being.

He was manager for East Africa when I was based in Nairobi in 1982-1984, and I found he was always patient and understanding, both with expats and with locally-recruited Kenyan personnel who unanimously liked him as a person and appreciated him as their boss. ■
