A nice turn of phrase

I never met Jim Brumm but I remember his nice turn of phrase. When long-time Reuters Washington bureau chief Bruce Russell died in 2017 I paid tribute to him as a first-class reporter who had covered Thailand, Laos and Vietnam with great distinction. Jim modestly wrote that he too had been in Vietnam as a "journalist first class" with the US Navy. ■
