Brian Mooney wins re-election to City of London Corporation

Brian Mooney (photo)​, former Reuters correspondent and manager, was re-elected for a further four-year term as Common Councilman in the City of London Corporation on Thursday. He topped the poll in his ward of Queenhithe where he and the other incumbent - both independents - beat an opponent from the Labour Party.

Labour unsuccessfully contested a number of Wards across the City in a challenge led by Peter Kenyon, a former Reuters editor.

Mooney (Reuters 1971-2000) was first elected to the Corporation, the body from which the Lord Mayor of London is drawn, in 1998. ■
