Tom Glocer becomes a Big Thinker

Tom Glocer, who stepped down as Thomson Reuters chief executive at the end of last year, has joined Big Think, a New York-based online content business, as an investor and advisory board member.

Big Think describes itself as “an online content innovator leveraging multimedia tools to deliver smarter, faster, actionable learning for companies and individuals”. It said Glocer’s investment “is a landmark endorsement from a widely admired corporate influencer and expert in content creation”.

Glocer, 52, said: “Big Think transforms individual and corporate learning with its actionable content centred on the key topics necessary for success in the knowledge economy. I intend to play an active part in its continued success.”

Big Think did not disclose the size of Glocer’s financial commitment. His Thomson Reuters severance package amounted to $19.9 million. He is also a director of healthcare group Merck and a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council. ■
