The drama of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe

The plight of Thomson Reuters Foundation worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, imprisoned in Iran, has been turned into a play for this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Looking for Mummy: Nazanin's Story is a one-hour show that’s described as exploring the lengths people will go to for family.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe is serving a five-year jail sentence in Tehran following her conviction on unspecified charges relating to national security. She was arrested in April 2016 while she and her then two-year-old daughter, Gabriella (pictured with her mother), were about to return to Britain after a family visit to Iran. Her daughter is being looked after by Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s parents.

The play runs from 20 to 28 August at C Cubed, a performance space at the 16th century Celtic Lodge, Brodie's Close, Lawnmarket, Royal Mile, EH1 2PS.
