Claudia Parsons joins Newsweek, to work again with Jim Impoco

Claudia Parsons, (photo), previously a top news editor and deputy enterprise editor at Reuters in New York, is joining Newsweek where she will be reunited later this month with former Reuters colleague Jim Impoco, now the top editor at the magazine.

“I’ll be doing a bit of everything, but with a focus on arts/culture/life and other features,” she said. “It’s a small team so we are all generalists.

“I was lucky enough to be Jim’s deputy at Reuters for a while and it was so much fun I had to find a way to work for him again. Lucky for me he runs a magazine now.”

Parsons joined Reuters as a graduate trainee in London in 1997 and worked in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Iraq and the United States during her 16 years with the organisation until last October, when she left. As deputy enterprise editor in 2011, she helped launch investigative reporting at Reuters with Impoco. ■
