TRI shares hit C$50 in Toronto

Thomson Reuters shares broke through the C$50 mark on the Toronto Stock Exchange for the first time on Wednesday.

The stock touched a 52-week high of C$50.28 before closing up 2.21 per cent at C$50.01 on higher than average daily volume of 729,827 shares.

TRI’s lowest price over the past year is C$36.86.

Scotiabank has boosted its target price from C$45.00 to C$51.00. It currently has a Sector Perform rating on the stock.

In New York, Thomson Reuters’ US stock has received an average short term price target of $40.60 from 12 analysts. 

The shares saw hefty buying on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday and the price closed up 0.86 per cent at $39.83. The volume of shares traded was 642,431.

Thomson Reuters’ 52-week range on NYSE is $33.21 to $41.44. ■
