Senior financial executive quits Thomson Reuters for top Daily Mail job

Tim Collier (photo), chief financial officer of Thomson Reuters’ largest division, financial and risk, for the last five years is leaving to join the Daily Mail group.

He will become group chief financial officer of Daily Mail & General Trust on 2 May, filling a post vacated by Stephen Daintith, who resigned to join Rolls-Royce.

Collier joined Reuters as director of group treasury in 2002. He reorganised the treasury department, which he ran together with insurance and a number of mergers and acquisitions transactions, before moving to manage internal audit. Then he ran both the mergers and acquisitions team and the central finance operation where he became a key executive in the Thomson acquisition of Reuters. Following the closure of the Thomson Reuters transaction in 2008, he relocated to the United States. ■
