Reuters launches investigative news site

Reuters has launched a new microsite featuring access to all of its investigations and special reports. The message to staff is that Reuters is more devoted to this kind of work than ever.

The site showcases special reports from correspondents around the world and allows users to access a full archive of Reuters investigations since 2013, sorted by year. It includes award-winning stories recognised by Pulitzer and other journalistic excellence bodies.

Global enterprise editor Michael Williams said: “Reporters and editors in Reuters bureaus around the world often ask me what kind of stories the Enterprise Desk is looking for. We figured the best way to explain what we want is to pull together the Special Reports we’ve been doing for the past several years - investigations, deep explanatory journalism, vivid war correspondence - and display it all in a curated page on Reuters.com. I think the microsite contains a great message to our staff: At a time when so many news organizations are having to cut back on this kind of work, Reuters is more devoted to it than ever. This is a place where you can practice world-class journalism.” ■
