Where's Harvey?

I am an ex-Reuters employee. I worked in the central software development department in London for around 15 years from 1987 to 2002.

I was at a Burns Night supper in my home town of Almerimar in Spain last night. One of the speakers there told a story about a Scottish journalist that he met in Moscow in the 90s whose first name was Harvey. Apparently Harvey was sitting in a hotel bar in Moscow and heard the sound of bagpipes. He went to investigate and found a Burns Night supper was going on and got invited along to the dinner.

The only other information that the guy can remember is that he thinks that Harvey left Reuters due to illness, he thinks he either worked in America or travelled to America reasonably often and he bought a wooden boat called Guitar.

We got chatting and he asked me if I could find out Harvey’s surname and perhaps some more information about him.

It would be really good if someone was able to provide some more information about Harvey.
