KILL - the brilliant key on NY video editing

While the primitive system had its short comings, there was one feature that burbs in my memory. It was the red "KILL" button, which could be - and often was - savagely struck after hitting "transmit" when the sender suddenly saw an error on the screen.

Processing times were slow enough so there was a goodly gap in which one could retrieve a future career.

And, while Gmail occasionally serves up the chance, this damage limiter is not on hand today. I have longed for that button more than once since. ■
